THE NEW AND OLD HEMP AND CBD OIL

Hemp has been used for thousands of years for a variety of purposes, from clothing to ropes and sails, to its many medicinal uses as CBD oil, or Cannabidiol

HEMP DATES BACK THOUSANDS OF YEARS

The Columbia History of the World states that the oldest relic of human industry is a bit of hemp fabric dating back to approximately 8,000 BC. There is also evidence of its use in Asia that predates the 8,000bc mark, where it was used as a medicine.

George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both grew hemp, as did most other farmers of their era.

A PERSONAL VENDETTA RENDERS HEMP ILLEGAL

It wasn’t until the late 1930’s that hemp, along with its cousin, marijuana, became illegal to grow or possess, due mostly to the efforts of Harry Anslinger, who had personal reasons for attacking these plants.

With the exception of a few years during WWII, the growing or possessing any hemp has been illegal.

HEMP AND CBD MAKE A COMEBACK

Fortunately, the Federal government has found its way and understands the many benefits of hemp and CBD oil derived from the hemp plant and has passed laws that make the cultivation and possession hemp legal.

Because of this bold step, researchers can now begin to find all the many ways in which CBD oil can be a benefit to mankind.

The old now becomes the new and we have caught up with our 10,000 BC selves.
